Like any other job, you need to take the time to learn the fundamentals and intricacies of what leads to success. Every search is unique because there are so many variables at play, so the best “strategy” you can follow is having a solid workflow in place.
I’ve found that a bloated tool stack made things harder for me, not easier, so over the past few years I’ve been slimming back on what I use and works. Leads to faster searches and less headaches for myself.

I’ve gotten through hiring managers by just being brutally honest with them. A lot think that there’s just an endless supply of qualified candidates applying. You have to tell them there isn’t.
