Hey there recent grads! π Have you ever come across a job listing that claims to be entry level, but requires years of experience? π€ I feel your frustration, it’s such a waste of time and energy!
But here’s the thing – you don’t have to just sit back and accept it. You have the power to do something about it. πͺ
Here are a few tips on what you can do when you encounter these misleading job postings:
– Research the company and job requirements thoroughly
– Reach out to the employer for clarification on the job expectations
– Utilize job search platforms that filter out false entry-level listings
– Report misleading job postings to the appropriate authorities or job boards
Let’s put an end to this practice and make the job search process more transparent for all recent graduates out there! ππΌ #Transparency #JobSearchTips #ReportMisleadingJobs

iβve been reporting a LOT of listings on indeed out of pure rage. have yet to figure out if anything is done about them
“Entry level” is subjective.
There are people that would say flipping burgers at mcdonalds is entry level. There are people that would say a Supply Chain Coordinator is an entry level job. One of those jobs is clearly more responsibility and requires more training than the other and maybe even a bachelors degree.
Functionally speaking, “Entry Level” really just means “the lowest level job within this profession that we employ here”
Get used to that.
Likely not. I mean you can but the definition of entry level is variable by company.
We should be able to. I understand the term “entry-level” is subjective to each company. But I’m tired of the “entry-level” positions that are requiring 5+ years experience. It’s ridiculous!
I understand your frustration. I am also applying to jobs and hate coming across these jobs.
They sadly won’t do anything about it. I think the Department of Labor should investigate Indeed and LinkedIn for allowing ghost jobs or scams to stay on their platforms.
The biggest waste of time is you reporting them. Those sites get paid to let companies post.
Entry-level encompasses more than college grads or zero experience. It generally includes no experience up to 4 years β whatever the company feels isnβt enough to hold a management title.
Yes and based
I think Iβve reported more jobs for petty reasons than I have applied.
Tell me about it, I am 53 and just lost my job in an industry I canβt work in anymore because of my knee injuries. I thought no problem I will become a receptionist, but back in the day they just answered phones, now they have to do administrative assistant work, payroll, etc. The admin roles now you may as well be a paralegal. Canβt get a job in the medical field anymore unless you have coding, etc, just to answer there phones. Customer service positions have 12 weeks of training and hopefully you make it, everything is remote. Canβt get disability because you have to exhaust all your unemployment benefits out. If I were you and I graduated school I wouldnβt put up with it either.
I just treat job applications like a dating game. I just spam everyone with my resume
You can do whatever you like, Mr Quixote.
Report it to who? If you are applying to jobs without a referral thatβs your issue.
