Hey guys, let’s talk about quarterlife crises – do you believe they’re a real thing? 🤔
I’m currently 25 and feeling the pressure of financial instability in my career as an animal science professional. Here’s my story:
– I thought I found my passion as a veterinary technician, but the pay isn’t cutting it 💔
– I’m living paycheck to paycheck and feeling like a burden on my partner 😞
– Worried about the future, questioning my choice of degree and feeling lost in terms of next steps 🤷♀️
Have any of you been through something similar? Any advice on navigating this tricky quarterlife crisis stage?
Personally, I’m considering these steps as potential solutions:
– Researching other career paths within my field that may offer better financial security
– Seeking out additional training or certifications to increase earning potential
What are your thoughts and suggestions? Let’s support each other through these tough decisions! 💪😊
John Mayer had one.
Could you transition to large animal vet tech? Feel like the pay would be higher
I don’t know if it’ll be something you’re interested in, but couple people at my job at an aquarium have zoology degrees and one is in marketing (posts on socials fun facts, behind the scenes vids, etc) and the other is a naturalist (person who will give tours, presentations, host educational classes, etc). Or aquarists who handle the actual animal care. Maybe if you have zoos/rescues/attractions/etc around there’s positions you could try? Keeping the same industry but trying different roles could also make transitioning into a new industry easier down the line.
Yes the quarter life crisis is absolutely real. I went through one last year and it sucks so hard. It’s also normal to go through what you’re going through now in your 20s. I too stressed about the future and had a strong desire to explore different fields. While I can’t give you specific advice, I can at least tell you you’re not alone! For me, it’s comforting to know that I’m not crazy and alone in feeling this way. If you think so too, you may find GradSimple (newsletter) helpful since it’s primarily for people like you and I. You get to see interviews of college grads figuring out life and career after graduation. Many speak of going through mental struggles like quarter life crisis, feeling stuck, or lost. To me it’s comforting to know others like me are just trying their best and we’re all winging life.
I had one at 25, definitely think it’s a thing.
So far no mid life crises though
Try to go into being a rep for dog food or pet products. Sales.
