Feeling Panicked about Making 110k This Month – Need Advice!
Hey everyone, I’m reaching out here because I could really use some advice. I’m in a unique situation with my business, making more money in a month than I used to in a year as a software engineer. Lately, I’ve been feeling uneasy and unable to relax, unable to sleep properly. I’m struggling to process everything going on and feeling isolated because I can’t find anyone who can relate to my situation. Any suggestions or words of wisdom? #businessadvice #financialanxiety #entrepreneurshiphelp
Take a moment to yourself and feel good about it.
Don’t panic. It’s your moment of glory. Bask under it.
Make sure to set aside for taxes. That will probably help with that element. Aside from that, allow yourself that time to settle yourself.
I can’t imagine the feeling.
You won the game. Talk to an accountant. Toast yourself.
You said it yourself about the silence. That’s important take a break few minutes a day and meditate. Retrospect and see what worked and what needs to be improved. Celebrate!
I can relate; did about 320k last month. Get a CPA first thing first
Be wary of success ceilings, when you feel fear it usually suggests that you’re above it. This is just a sign to do some deeper inner work, so you won’t self sabotage
Isn’t it funny how depressing it can be when you finally win the game? Do you feel a sense of long term instability because unlike typical salaries, your revenue is up for grabs if you aren’t careful so you’re in constant survival mode?
Congratulations on your business success.
Going through an identity crisis is a normal part of going through life changing experiences, especially when they are experiences you have had alone.
There is nothing easy about it, but it is par for the course.
I haven’t experienced it with business success (yet) but I’ve gone through it many times during big life transitions, and the ‘level-up’ experiences are just as emotionally taxing as losses and traumas. People don’t typically talk about that, so it can feel even more isolating.
It sounds like you are doing just what you need to be doing by identifying the discomfort, accepting it, and figuring out how to process it.
The best thing you can do for yourself is prioritize the time to sit quietly with yourself and fully experience it. It might be uncomfortable, but the payoff is high.
Don’t let yourself fall too far into imposter syndrome. It’s good to sit and reflect on how mind boggling it is to be where you are at but don’t let it fall into feeling like you don’t deserve it or you’re a fraud. If that was the case you wouldn’t be where you are at.
The loneliness won’t go away unfortunately. There are very few people who you can actually relate to. I only know of one person who’s in somewhat the same situation as I am and I open up a little more to them. With every one else I get real quiet when conversations related to money come up like interest rates and vacation plans. It’s better to just shut up and blend in. You’re not doing yourself or your friends any favors by giving hints of what your situation really is.
Just move up a level or two and make new acquaintances that maybecome your friends.
Anxiety and excitement are physiologically very similar, meaning they can affect your body in the same way. Try reframing your feelings in your mind, and think about what you have to be excited about, instead of what’s making you anxious. Then consider what you need to do next based on that, which very well may be to get a CPA and find a therapist or coach that you would want to work with.
Know that you’re on the right path of not being easily drowned by “success” because you feel uneasy now, that means you know that you have to be consistent with whatever you’re doing. You have awareness and that’s the first step.
Dm me if you need help in managing your mental health. Great work.
Congratulations! Listen to the All-In podcast … they seem to normalize being extremely wealthy. 😉
Sounds like you should tell the boss you’re taking a few days off to sit by a pool and read a paperback 😉 congrats
Is this a business that you have built by your own and involves a lot of maintenance like and E-commerce or something else? 🤔
Success is great and sustainable success is rarely a fluke! It sounds like this is the first big sign of it so Congratulations! Now is the fun part where you can find out how to sustain this and if this is going according to your business plan! Enjoy the moment but try to test out of it this sustainable and don’t be thrown off if things go up and down. You aren’t asking for it but for future success I’ve found one usually needs perseverance and adaptability to stay in the black. Starting/ running a business is really hard especially as you grow but it can be life changing. You’re off to a better start than I was and I’ve been doing this over a decade. Reach out if I can be helpful but until you find people you can trust and share this with in your local life, lean on the online community. I love seeing people be successful, it’s so hard but can be so rewarding- beyond even just the monetary rewards. Good luck and continued success!
What kind of business are you doing
Idk if anyone told u this but , congrats G, u are inspiring
You need a vacation, maybe move you need a different scenery where there’s people like you that you can network with
Curious to hear your story! I was also formerly a salaried software engineer in San Francisco, but I left the city and now live in an RV while I build my current business. I’m building a paid RV-centric app while working on contract work, but I can feel the contract work taking over and turning me back into a regular engineer again, hah. I want to get better at spotting opportunities and get away from things that don’t generate equity.
Keep sprinting champ, you got this
Taxes and general accounting should probably be priority. On the personal level, don’t spend a lot of it. Start getting used to seeing those numbers in your account and make sure its a trend. I’ve seen too many people get a large chunk of cash, spend a lot, and for one reason or another not be able to sustain it.
Eat well, sleep well, exercise, save for taxes and chill. 99% of people in this sub dream to be in your place.
A lot of people have a similar problem where they deep down don’t feel right having all this money and inevitably find some way to blow it up.
The only thing you need to focus on doing is trying not to blow it up.
I’m sorry there’s nobody you can trust enough to share the good news with 🙁
Thanks for sharing with us!
Take a nice long hot bath
Part of the journey… Take a few days off in a different environment away from it. Level up your circle. Don’t be a pussy.
Keep on the grind, keep your guard up, and don’t let paranoia defeat you. Seems like you are successful in your new business. Enjoy.
Congrats my friend I’m excited to have this feeling one day! Give back to the people who helped you.
Bootstrapped a company into doing this for a while. We got up to $200K per month in revenue. Then it all went south.
I could have kept my hands on the wheels but felt pretty betrayed by my partner at the time so I let the wheel drift. I traveled Europe for a year. My accountants went ape shit that they saw I dropped $57K on travel. It held stable for a while but then the pandemic hit and I went into my first negative year ever. Now I’m back to rebuilding from the ground up.
Don’t do that. Treat it like a jealous lover. Eyes on the ball at all times. Take breaks but don’t really fully leave the room, ya know? You’ve got this.
Being an entrepreneur is so isolating, especially when you become successful. Congratulations!!!!!! I hope you can treat yourself ♥️
give constant charity
Hello! My friends and I are in a similar boat. A lot of us worked so hard chasing dollars, only to learn what we really wanted was peace of mind. Take care of your family first, that’s what really matters, and you will find your crowd. It took my business partner years before he found a group that clicked with him. Give back to your community, be silent about the success, and help your friends get to your level that you think actually have a shot.

Save what you need for taxes, if you don’t know what you need then talk to your tax guy or find a CPA to help you. If you really don’t know, save 50% until you do. Invest part of what’s left and use up to 25% for something fun/trip/life sized sex doll
Call your accountant!! Do a little boasting. Now is a very good time to review your tax strategies.

Hire an accountant, do it again for a few months, and get off the treadmill.
Dang I thought I was cool making $50K a month lol. My advice is relax, get your money in order, and live modestly. Always expect and prepare for rainy days to come. Helps me sleep at night doing that.
Let’s fucking go! Hell yeah bro!
(I’m a wage slave, happy to see you escape the hamster wheel ❤️)
I’m curious, but what does your business do?
Buy a supercar and go to cars and coffee. Meet people with money
