That would be the least valuable network on the planet.
A cohesive group of unemployable people trying to get each other jobs.
Maybe do this on the sub where people have jobs, get promotions and are successful?
Anyway OP love the idea
You would have to be very cautious and cognizant of who you’re letting in. I was here on a previous profile while I was going through 2.5 years of recruiting hell (thankfully while still employed). When I trashed that profile and started this one, I wanted to come back here as I’m now in the position to hire and want to help people from that perspective as well as do my best to make my own hiring as friendly as I can.
However, I’ve been attacked by a few members who seem to assume that literally anyone who is on the other side of hiring is an awful person. I’ve been accused of deliberately understaffing (I don’t control my budget but have always done my best to hire up to prevent that), I’ve been told that I need to “grow a spine and do my job” when I said that my boss is forcing another person into my interview cycle (never mind that zero parts of my job is making a candidate friendly hiring process, I’m doing that because I care – that person didn’t know that I’d spent a full week arguing my boss down from a ridiculous process and the third person was the best I could get).
Short version of all that is that you’ve got some people here who have become toxic to the people on the other side of the table. And while I don’t think anyone here should be defending actively bad choices, the fact is that most hiring managers and many recruiters are still just people doing their best with the edicts handed down from on high.
Why would I be concerned about letting those bad actors in? Because they’ll spread that toxic attitude within your group and it *will* negatively impact your chances. Because if you show up to an interview with the attitude that the person you’re talking to is clearly a monster? They will sense that and they will not want to work with that. If you’re referred by someone that has a negative reputation in the company for being shitty? That will put an immediate “do not contact” on your file as long as it’s associated with that person. I don’t want to see people here struggling for longer than is necessary.
Have you seen some of people here setting daily records in immaturity.Â
Love the idea.💡
Ladies and gentlemen? Lol okay …
