π Did you hear about the recent court ruling that allows citizens to sue companies that prefer H1B workers over American citizens? Check out the article here: [link]
π This ruling opens up a path for US citizens to address alleged H1B abuse by companies. But what are your thoughts on this? Do you think it will lead to more accountability and fairness in the hiring process?
π‘ As a possible solution, could there be more transparency and oversight in the H1B visa program to ensure that companies are not exploiting it to the detriment of American workers?
Let’s discuss and share our perspectives on this important topic! #Immigration #CitizensFirst
Letβs see it
I’m a H1B AMA.
if I’m a company I’d just laugh this out the door
oh you, a citizen, is going to try to sue me a company? let’s see how deep your pocket is first
as a foreigner myself, it’s always funny to me to see US citizens being so butthurt, US gov cares far far more about US companies than US individuals, once you let that sink in, a lot of the policies and laws makes a lot of sense
this just sounds like election propaganda, make-you-feel-good-stuff
also on that note, if you think only foreign countries have propaganda you’re in some la-la-land, in my view one of the smartest US propaganda has done is making its citizen think there isn’t propaganda in US
That’s great, it should be only for when extra workers are needed not when mass laying off your own citizens who can’t find jobs in 1 year
Let the rants begin!
Good we need to stop letting the street shitting patels, and the Korean Kimβs take our jobs!
Man I’m really happy I went as fast as I could from H1B to Green Card to Citizenship.
That window seems to be fast closing.
I’m interested in what the practical effects of this are. In theory it was already the rule that companies had to prefer local candidates over H1Bs, but the system was so loosely enforced that consulting companies would run seminars on how to get around the law. It seems like this gives standing to rejected candidates to sue the companies themselves. Interesting to see how this will play out.
Its sad that this even went to an appellate court. Of course you canβt discriminate when it comes to hiring lol. Thats like one of the most strictly enforced areas that discrimination laws apply to.
