I usually put on an Ella Fitzgerald Playlist. Her music soothes my soul.
EDM in general – Upbeat. Today it was Breaking Apart by Jerro & Shallou and Shadows Falling by John Monkman (MIXED)
“Breakout” by Swing Out Sister
I usually listen to a lot of screamo such as Hawthrone Heights and Underoath when I feel trapped in my thoughts and can scream along as the song plays.
If I need to get out any big emotions, I scream along to Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. You can’t not feel better after yelling “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” like 10 times
Ave Maria (where did you go) by P!nk.
Low Roar – Don’t be so serious
Anything by She Wants Revenge. Particularly Red Flags and Long Nights and Out of Control.
A&W by Lana Del Rey. It has two parts, a sad one and a hot one. It often helps me to process feeling down and then bring me confidence.
Anything by Hozier. He makes music for women in my opinion. He makes you feel loved, happy, sad, in love, depressed but you always come out better at the end of his songs. Just a magical mystical man who is a lyrical genius
[Disturbed – Are you ready](https://youtu.be/55NJzOSuKuY?feature=shared)
It’s actually about escaping an abusive relationship, but it sure does the trick to hype me up.
any melanie martinez song, mother mother, mitski specially her “me and my husband” song when I’m feeling lonely, and daisy by brand new! and i feel oh no! by marina fits the gone girl theme
[Vaughan Williams – Fantasia on a Theme by Tallis](https://youtu.be/e6pEIHtffqQ?si=xDyV44pgtXHsRu_E)
It feels expansive. It drops my shoulders and opens my chest. It’s like settling into a comfortable meditation pose.
When I’m trapped I play “show me how to live” by Audioslave. It let’s me yell at the powers that be.
*I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me*
Smile – the Jayhawks
