Hey there! That sounds like a really frustrating experience, and I’m sorry you had to go through that. It’s always tough when a company puts you through multiple rounds of interviews, only to reject you over something that seems so minor. 😕
It’s definitely important to be transparent in your job application and interview processes, but it also sounds like the company might have been overly focused on a small detail instead of looking at the bigger picture of your qualifications and fit for the role.
In situations like this, it might be worth considering if this is a company you really want to work for. If they’re spending so much time probing into minor details instead of focusing on the bigger picture, it could be a red flag for how they operate as a company.
Remember, the job search is a two-way street. It’s not just about impressing the company, but also finding a company that aligns with your values and work style. Keep your head up and keep looking for opportunities that truly value your skills and experience! 🌟
And if you’re still feeling frustrated, sharing your experience on platforms like LinkedIn or Glassdoor can also help others who might be in the same boat. It’s always good to shed light on potential issues in the hiring process. Good luck with your job search! 🍀
Robinhood?
I’d have aced that interview after they saw how much I use the app and all my losses.
Sounds like Robinhood.
Why would they care? All that matters is if you can do the job and have the skills, I would always view a question if you used their app to be in the same vein as someone asking if you like the food you cooked, you can’t hold it against them if they say “yes” when really they thoughg it was terrible.
Anyways sucks they wasted so much of your time. You should name and shame since that behavior is toxic. I really hate dumb cultural fit questions and “tell us something quirky”.
You should name and shame. That’s very unprofessional of them.
What a bunch of weirdos. Please name the company!
Sounds like another scammy startup.
That’s fucked up, Wealthfront is a piece of shit company tbh hope they go bankrupt.
Edit: sheesh ok my bad, company is decent.
This is actually very unusual for a normal sized company. I don’t use Facebook, and relatively open about it, and it was never a barrier to interview and have an onsite at Facebook.
Honestly, looking at the exact records of your usage sounds like a potential privacy violation, and a director running wild with customer records.
What a mentally ill fwit.
Keep on living your life mate, you’re best off without them.
It really sounds like common “dating” behavior on the company’s part. They were interviewing you along with other candidates, and had you in the top competition. They got their person late in the process (someone else), and used this method to “gracefully” disengage from you. When all they needed to do was be honest, and tell you straight out that they were done and had the role filled.
Years ago I did a 6 round interview and met with over 15 ppl only to be rejected. It’s crazy and I knew the vibe was off. Go with ur gut. GL
Wtf is wrong with that guy? It’s a company hiring an employee, not a cult.
I’ve had similar experiences a few times over the years. They want you to deeply invest yourself into the company’s mission and view working there as a calling, not as a job. You’ll get to talk to the CEO and he is SO FUCKING PASSIONATE that he only wants to hire true believers.
In my experience this is a sure sign that:
* they are having drastic financial difficulties
* they are going to lowball the fuck out of you
* sooner or later they are going to run out of money to pay even the lowball salary
* they want you to keep working even though you are being paid in hopes and dreams
Good thing you are sane to catch how weird this whole process was lol. You probably won’t be happy working there anyway and still be out job hunting.
Lots of red flags to indicate a toxic, cult-like culture and no balance between work and life at all.
Also curious if they respect the privacy regulations in US.
Name & Shame!
Was Lucy from Peanuts interviewing you?
There’s something I don’t like about the director being able to just look at this data whenever he wants to. Especially if he’s using it for this.
That’s a huge fucking compliance violation for a fintech to pull up your data like that …unless they’re a small fry
I wonder if that’s against their own privacy policy lol
