“Have you ever lost everything, faced rejection, and struggled to find a job? 🌟 | Overcame job market struggles, depression, and a breakup to land a meaningful job starting in July! How did they overcome dark times and secure a job helping refugee children? 🤔 | #JobSearch #Unemployment #MentalHealth #CareerGoals 🌈”
Congratulations. I’m on the same boat as well – living in a different country, requiring a visa and my time’s running out. 2 months jobless thus far after a soul crushing layoff, depressed AF as a result. Just trying to trudge along in this dark time in my life.
I’m glad to hear you at least made it with a job. I am currently in a somewhat similar situation of looking for a job (temporary contract coming to an end with little possibility of a renewal) in another country where I need a visa, partly to stay with my partner.
Trying not to become a depressed mess but it’s hard. My partner was actually quite supportive a couple of years ago when I was looking for a job after graduation – we moved in together after 4-5 months of a relationship because I couldn’t get my own place. Stayed with her for about 4 difficult months before getting a job (+1 month away). We had a lot of arguments due to the job hunt destroying my mental health, thought we’d break up soon, but we stayed together and the relationship grew stronger – met her parents a few times, supported her during her cancer treatment, stayed over at their house in her hometown, went on trips together… And now I’m at risk of losing it all.
Went through the same sht… To anyone reading this, please do any form of physical exercise to avoid the toll on your mental health. It works wonders!
Congrats on getting through all that. You’re obviously a fighter for sure and you should be proud of yourself for getting through all of this.
God has a plan for your life! Life is more than just working a job. Find meaning in your life through loving your fellow humans and serving God. Money and or other resources to support yourself will follow. Wishing you the best!
glad you made it eventually. what was your background / industry?
