🚓 You called the cops on me, I evicted you 🚪
About 4 months ago, I live in a unit complex and one day when coming home, driving in the shared car park in the basement, I noticed a tray of 24 eggs (worth around $10). I didn’t think nothing of it, 1 hour later I needed to go do something and noticed the eggs were still there. I took them.
2 days later, yes… 2 days…. a sign in the elevator said to give it back. So I did, I left them in the elevator under the sign.
Went on my merry way.
## The Conflict Begins
2 days later, I get a knock from the manager as they have reported it stolen, and they caught me on camera. I admitted taking it but also it was left unattended for more than 1 hour and he should have seen it in the cameras. While he said that’s the case, I shouldn’t have touched it. Whatever. Also he advised they still didn’t have their eggs, I said I left it in the elevator and I said to go check the camera in the elevator. He said it was a dummy camera….. well that’s amazing…. sarcasm. Told him, well, someone else stole them and it wasn’t my problem the elevator cameras are dummies (which I thought were real).
## The Police Gets Involved
2 days go past, get a knock from the police as they reported it stolen and wanted to get me in trouble. I didn’t get a fine or anything, police was just doing their job and checking off the list that they spoke to me. One cop said this is a waste of their time just for eggs….
## Taking Matters into My Own Hands
I searched up where they live (manager told me their unit number) and noticed they have been renting in this building since 2019, I also checked their level and noticed more than 10 pairs of different sized shoe. Maybe they were having a party? Checked a few days later, same amount of shoes.
I contacted the council and their real estate agent anonymously stating there’s more than 6+ people living in that tiny unit and for them to investigate as it is illegal to have that many people living there and if they’re not officially registered on the tenant list.
## The Conclusion – Karma Strikes
Well I didn’t hear anything back apart from “thank you for your e-mail, we take these matters seriously, blah blah blah”. I knew I wasn’t going to get an update after that. But I was bored one day 2 weeks ago and decided to check the listings in my area, I noticed their unit number is up for rent.
I enquired about the unit stating why they left, the real estate agent couldn’t tell me due to privacy but she slipped out accidentally that they have broken the lease agreement and needed to go.
You dob me in, I dob you in. Don’t care what people think (actually I do care with the hate replies, they’re getting me off)…. just here to share my story.
In conclusion, karma truly hit back hard in this revenge story. It serves as a reminder that what goes around, comes around. Yup, never a good idea to make an enemy of a neighbor.
What an egg-citing story, you forced them to egg-xit the building
yeah – i get you were helping about the eggs…i wouldn’t have touched it. sad to say, you invited trouble by being helpful :-/
I wouldn’t have touched the eggs, except possibly throwing them away the next day before they start to rot. You never know how long could they have been there (or generally somewhere in or outside refrigerated area). You should consider yourself lucky. You could have gotten yourself a nasty food poisoning.
people who live in glass houses should throw stones. Nice one
Why would you take something that isn’t yours in the first place?
I mean, I could almost give you a pass if you were starving and needed something to eat, but by your own admission two days later you still have the whole tray of eggs sitting in your fridge.
I’m amazed that a grown ass person thinks they can just take shit that doesn’t belong to them. Lmao
You’re not only a thief, you’re a huge fucking asshole. You stole the eggs, were not inconvenienced by the police in any way, and then got a family evicted from their home. Petty, but you had nothing to take revenge over, you are just a fucking sociopath. I hope this is fake, but if it isn’t, you are human garbage. The fuck is the matter with you?
Sorry but you were wrong to take the eggs. Why did you think you were entitled to them?
Kinda cringe. I’d imagine the family isn’t doing great financially and they got forced to moveÂ
Op thinks they really accomplished something here. Let’s not tell them.
Reading all the comments you really have a poor understanding what fair is. You have no empathy and it is really shocking. You were not lying when saying you don’t care what people think. But as soon as someone offends you, suddenly this is a huge issue. Seems you are someone who can only dish out and not receive.
Congrats, you stole food from a clearly poor family and then went out of your way to make sure they’re homeless too.
Karma is no yolk!!
I’m going to steal food from a poor family, and then make them lose their home when they have the audacity to get mad about it.
This is petty. But I don’t see why revenge is necessary? If anything, you’re a trash person.
I don’t get this line: “I also checked their level and noticed more than 10 pairs of different sized shoe. Maybe they were having a party? Checked a few days later, same amount of shoes.”
They were leaving their shoes outside? I know this is the custom in some countries. Which country does this story take place?
