Hey everyone! ๐ Have you ever been in a situation where you just had to make a drastic decision for your own well-being? I just quit my job with no notice and I feel a mix of relief and guilt. Here’s a bit of the backstory:
– Working in a retail store in a rough area was taking a toll on my mental health ๐ฌ
– Reduced hours after a bad incident with a customer made it impossible to make ends meet ๐ฐ
– Found a new job ๐, but had to make the tough call to quit without notice for my own health ๐ง
One thing that’s been bothering me is the comment about my “changed work ethic”. Have you ever received feedback that stung a bit? ๐ Any tips on how to move past it? Here’s what I’m considering to help me get over it:
– Remembering that my mental health comes first, always ๐
– Focusing on the positive feedback I’ve received in the past ๐ผ
– Understanding that my worth is not defined by one person’s opinion ๐ช
If you’ve been through a similar situation or have any advice to share, I’d love to hear it! Let’s support each other through tough times and celebrate new beginnings together. Here’s to better days ahead! ๐ฅ #NewBeginnings #SelfCare #SupportCommunity
I quit on the spot a couple years ago myself because i felt a mental break coming on. On thing is, i worked from home, and in the moment, i did not have the mental capacity to even have that conversation. Quit on a monday, the supervisor didn’t realize i was missing or didn’t call until friday. I avoided it because i still wasn’t ready, and then called monday to officially quit. I liked my supervisor and coworkers however, but taking calls from angry customers all day at home and living by myself just created so much isolation and anxiety. I’m much better off now, even though i make less, and you will be too. Always do what is good for you alone when it comes to jobs.
YOU KNOW you did good work. She just used the only ammunition she had. Let it go
I hope this is the last time: it is not worth it. I wish you the best of luck. And I get that that remark is hurting, but I hope you can ignore it. It’s not fair and you sound like you have a really good work ethic
Youโll get over that as soon as you realize itโs not true! Your boss was gaslighting tf outta you. Thatโs a part of their job description I guess . Shitty bosses & shitty jobs give you ( imo) the ability to identify ๐ฉ๐ฉ in your future employment. Good luck to you on your future endeavors! ๐
