#AutismAwareness #EmploymentOpportunities #NeurodiversityInclusion
Hey everyone! 🌟 So, I’ve got some exciting news to share – I’ve finally landed my first job at the ripe old age of 27! 🥳 It’s been a long journey for me as an autistic individual, facing rejection after rejection in the job market. But today, I received an offer for an IT position and I couldn’t be happier!
I know that many of us on the spectrum struggle with finding employment, so I wanted to share some tips that might help others in a similar situation:
– Focus on your strengths and unique skills as an autistic individual. Highlight what makes you stand out in a job application.
– Practice your interview skills, like maintaining eye contact and actively listening to questions.
– Consider reaching out to organizations that support neurodiversity in the workplace for potential job opportunities.
Let’s keep the conversation going – what are some strategies that have helped you or someone you know with autism in finding employment opportunities? Share your thoughts and let’s support each other on this journey! 💪 #DiverseTalents #InclusiveHiring
Good luck
You’re an inspiration to so many others on the spectrum. Great job!
Wishing you every success!
I’m doing a course at the moment on neurodiversity in coaching and it’s made me realise how little I knew about the challenges, including things like unemployment rates among neurodiverse.
This is a great story to hear.
Congratulations!

Congratulations on landing the job! I’m on the lower end of the spectrum but that doesn’t make it any easier to land a good job. IT is a great fit for those on the spectrum with a passion for Technology. I’m in my early 40’s and luckily grew up surrounded by technology, encouraged and supported by family and friends to explore the field.
Hey, great ! Just the fact that you have been steady applying and kept pushing forward when facing obstacles says a lot about you and your dedication.
Congrats, I’m sure you’re going to rock it!
Woohoo! Congrats!
