Have you seen my downstairs neighbor’s balcony covered in months worth of poop in Atlanta, GA? What can I do about apartment management ignoring the issue for the past 8 months? #Atlanta #ApartmentLiving #NeighborProblem #BalconyPoop #ManagementIssue
Health department. Make sure to mention the restaurant below it and that it is causing health problems for you.
I had the same problem – called the health department – literally the next day the patio was entirely clean and the tenant on his way to being evicted.
The landlord is arguably violating your right to quiet enjoyment of your leased premises by failing to correct a known health and safety hazard. Send a certified letter to the landlord explaining the problem, including pictures, advising that you’re sending a copy to the city/county, and asserting that the landlord will continue to be in material breach of your lease as long as this condition exists.
Resolving this issue may depend on the language of your lease and state/local law. This may be a helpful resource: https://www.dca.ga.gov/sites/default/files/2-15-21_handbook_final_draft.pdf. Depending on the resources available to you, you may want to look into whether this is something Atlanta Legal Aid could help you with.
Call your local animal control.
Health department is who you want to contact.
I had a similar problem. Call the health department. They live to sort people out.
Add to it! Start popping in bags and dropping it down to their collection
Call your local Health Department make sure you take pictures of everything you see I have to do the same thing for a neighbor who has 15 cats they made her stop feeding the feral one so they stop pooping on everyone’s property. Just be sure you stress that it’s causing health concerns. Also if it’s bothering any of your other neighbors you guys could put your money into escrow until the problem gets solved.
Let the restaurant know, too. If they call the health department it will have even more sway and might save you from your landlord retaliating against you by coming up with a reason to not renew your lease.
Call the city
Let the restaurant below know. It’s getting warmer out and the smell will be keeping customers away.
Maybe both you and the restaurant owners can contact the Atlanta Health Department.
