### How Drinking Water Helps Alleviate Hangover Nausea

2. **Flushes Toxins**: Water helps to flush out the toxins from your body that build up as a result of alcohol consumption. This can help alleviate feelings of nausea and discomfort.
3. **Aids Digestion**: Dehydration can slow down digestion, leading to feelings of nausea and discomfort. Drinking water can help kickstart your digestive system and ease these symptoms.
### Tips for Using Water as a Hangover Cure
– Start Early: If you know you’ll be consuming alcohol, try to drink plenty of water throughout the evening to stay hydrated and lessen the severity of a potential hangover.
– Pace Yourself: When you’re drinking alcohol, try alternating between alcoholic drinks and water to stay hydrated and lessen the impact of a hangover.
– Continue Hydration: After a night of drinking, make sure to continue drinking water the next day to rehydrate and alleviate any lingering hangover symptoms.
### Other Hydration Tips for Relieving Hangover Symptoms
– **Coconut Water**: It’s rich in electrolytes and can help replenish your body’s hydration levels.
– **Sports Drinks**: These can also help replenish electrolytes and hydration levels.
– **Fruit Juice**: Natural fruit juices can also provide hydration and essential nutrients to help your body recover from a hangover.

Remember, the best way to avoid a hangover is to drink responsibly and in moderation. Be mindful of how much alcohol you’re consuming and try to pace yourself to avoid the discomfort of a hangover altogether.
In conclusion, staying hydrated with water is an effective and simple way to alleviate some of the discomfort of a hangover. By understanding the science behind it and following practical tips, you can use this natural remedy to feel better and bounce back from a night of drinking. So next time you find yourself experiencing a hangover, reach for a glass of water and start rehydrating your body to feel better faster.
Much needed tip, especially after a buffet
What helps me is slice of white bread with fat layer of butter.
If you don’t vomit this, you will be fine after 2-3 hours.
If you vomit – you managed to vomit.
also a good idea to drink water before, during, and after drinking to help minimize the hangover as much as possible
This never worked for me.
What always worked was going into the bathroom, kneeling over the toilet (like you’re about to vomit) and taking a deep breath through your nose to smell the inside of the bowl. That always triggered me to puke. No, there was nothing in the bowl to smell, just water.
Always remember to drink water after consuming alcohol, especially before you go to bed and after every time you pee. The reason you are hungover is largely due to the dehydration alcohol causes.
Water is the best chaser
Stick your finger down your throat….it’ll come up…if not go deeper
If you want to vomit, drink some salt water. Works every time.
This presupposes that dehydration is the cause of a hangover.
It’s one symptom, but a hangover is mostly withdrawal.
No, too much water can be dangerous.
When youre hungover drink large amounts of vomit
Throw in some electrolytes! Liquid I.V. for the win.
I can make myself puke very easily with a toothbrush. So easily in fact that I need to be careful brushing my tongue as I’ve accidentally made myself puke while brushing my tongue.
If I want to puke I’ll usually drink some kind of fruity sports drink and grab the tooth brush. The sports drink is to make it taste better.
Actually no
You state of hydration is already whacked. Adding copius amounts of water will dilute the essential minerals your body needs and can actively make you feel worse.
Besides scientifically proven advice such as greasy foods and sprite which has a chemical in it, drink sports drinks. I use my endurance powder which has sugars, carbs and all the salts/minerals my body needs and within 2 to 3 hours I am better.
Overhydration after already losing alot of valuable minerals through sweat and urination can make you feel very bad and my even lead to health complications.
Yes you can drink water but only till your thirst is quenched. Yes it might laat only 30 minutes but that means you are actively listening to your body’s feedback loop. Better to drink 300 to 500mls every 30 to 60 min then drink 2liters in 20min only to piss out every bit of potassium, sodium and phosphate you have.
I always just put my whole hand in my mouth, works every time
Do opposite actually
I drink milk and it works every time
Simulate swallowing and keep doing it. It reregulates the direction of muscle contractions, wanting to go up and out keeps them in and going down.
Also…. take in the biggest breath of air and hold it. Breathe out and back to hold again between nausea pulses.
Also…smell rubbing alcohol
I always hear people saying to eat and drink when hungover, but for pretty much the worst parts that last until about 2-3pm following day at least, I’m unable to keep any liquids or solids down.Â
Big motivator to watch the drinkingÂ
Why did I read up to the comma to the tune of “if you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands”?
My tested, tried and true way of puking. 100% guarantee. Also makes it hurt less lol
Sucking on ice helps.
These are all (mostly) so complicated… Just spin in a circle a few times, no tools needed.
Water between drinks, water on your nightstand for if you wake up and crave hydration, mix in some electrolytes either before or after.
Drinking used to make my poops uncomfortable.
Thanks for reminding me why I don’t drink. That feeling sounds awful because I remember it, and it’s completely avoidable.
