Here’s a quick recap:
– Store manager wasn’t present for the scheduled interview time
– Assistant manager asked about medical issues and availability
– Store manager mentioned the need for someone to do truck work and ring up customers
– Offered $12.75 an hour without much preparation or professionalism
Possible solution:
– Communication and organization are key in any job interview process
– Providing clear job expectations and responsibilities upfront
– Showing respect for the candidate’s time and being prepared for the interview

Whoah!! Paragraphing please!!
Dollar General needs to go out of business. You will be doing the work of 4 people for $12.75 hr pre tax. Don’t do it
All Dollar Generals are like this. The store managers are stretched just as thin as the other employees. Same goes for stores like Big Lots.
Damn I figured Dollar General would run like a Swiss fuckin watch
Dollar Generals are trash. Slowly helping bring down small town markets and grocery stores, one rural community at a time.
I had 7/11 do the same type of shit. I show up on time, employee confirmed it, and they were like “I really wish the manager would just tell you we aren’t hiring.”
Needless to say I left a review about the experience and she was like “YOU WERE NOT ON TIME SIR” after I said I literally was and we’re not debating this. I told her she missed the last 3 times including this one out of boredom and I have a receipt showing I was on time to the interview SHE set (Time marked 1 minute after the time, so accounting for taking time to pick something out, employee working, ect. I was there when she said to be). Her excuse every time? Bank run/I’m very busy.
Bank run is just code for goofing off on the clock is how I view it personally. Not saying this is what they’re doing, but I have my suspicions.
Dollar General is the top wage theft purveyor in the U.S., they steal from their employees all the time.
Dollar general is nonstop truck and cashiering. It’s a 7 day rolling calendar. Most stores still have stock from previous truck in the back when the new truck arrives.
Every employee stocks whether it’s the totes or the big metal carts. Don’t let them lie in the interview – it is nonstop even if you are a “cashier”
