Hey everyone, I need some advice on a tricky situation at work. 🤔 So, here’s the deal – my employer fired my coworker for sexual harassment, but then rehired him and now we’re working in close proximity again. 😬
I already reported his inappropriate behavior months ago, but now he’s back and it’s making me really uncomfortable. 🚫 I’ve taken steps to block him from my phone, but I still have to see him at work.
Do you think I have any options here? 🤷♀️ Should I just quit, or is there a better solution? Share your thoughts and advice below! Let’s help each other out. 🙌 #SupportEachOther
Possible Solutions:
– Document all interactions with the coworker for evidence
– Consider speaking to HR or a higher-up in the company about the situation.
Can’t wait to hear your input! 💬
Once an employer is alerted to sexual harassment they need to make it stop. There’s no one must comply thing, just keep you from being harassed. Putting it so you aren’t scheduled together can be ok. If he does anything you need to report it.
Well your boss sounds dishonest, to say the least. I’m not sure it’s illegal for him to still be working there but I’m sure it is illegal for him to continue to harass you in any way. I would he quick to report anything he does and include you bosses texts about him on any report made in the future.
If you are in the US start calling up some lawyers. Record the harassment. Use your phone, hit record the minute you are in the building and write it down as well. Keep a log of the calls, keep the text, screenshot and make a pile of evidence, ready to give to your lawyer. Keep a journal documenting , the comments the harrasser said , date and time each entry. If you are in the states file a complaint about the employer with the EEOC. You have a strong case and can sue. If you get a lawyer who will work under contingency, the lawyer will negotiate a settlement with the company. Dont be nervous, this could be a lot of money on the table for you . Hopefully a discrimination lawyer will give you some advice on here. It helps to know the location of the issue, each place has different ways of dealing with SH.
