Can we talk about how frustrating it is that everything seems to be getting more expensive, but wages just aren’t keeping up? 🤔 I mean, if you’re working a full-time job, shouldn’t you be able to cover your basic expenses without having to stress about it? How many jobs are we supposed to work just to survive these days?
I’m already working two jobs and I still can’t afford to live independently or even own a car. It feels like a never-ending cycle of struggling to make ends meet, and it’s exhausting. 💸
And let’s not even get started on the fact that high-paying jobs seem to be reserved for certain sectors, making it almost impossible for the average person to break into that income bracket. Soon, even $100k a year won’t be enough to cover everything. Do you know of any jobs that pay more than $150k? Because I sure don’t.
But hey, enough complaining – let’s focus on solutions. Here are some ideas to help increase wages and make sure everyone can afford to live comfortably:
– Advocate for a higher minimum wage 🌟
– Push for salary transparency in all industries 💼
– Support policies that promote fair wages for all workers 💪
What do you think we can do to change the current situation and make sure everyone has a fair shot at financial stability? Share your thoughts! 👇 #IncomeEquality #FairWages #FinancialStability
Real wages haven’t budged in 20 years. 2005-2010 wages offered for any decent job today. Wages stagnant
Unionization is the only way. In our negotiations this last year, we helped manage to secure our largest wage increase in history. I still think it’s inadequate, but I’m not complaining due to the hostile environment from management, city, and state
One would think this would be a no-brainer, like minors shouldn’t be working some jobs, or shouldn’t be working full-time during school. But there seem to be some politicians who think minimum-wage jobs are for minors, so they don’t need higher wages. At least, that’s what they say.
The minimum wage for an area should be based on covering costs for housing, food, and transportation (heck, let’s throw in medical insurance, too), for at least one person doing 30 hours of work per week. Jobs should include paid time off for sickness and vacation.
Apparently, some jobs are run so poorly, that they couldn’t function with such conditions. I guess Americans are really bad at business.
I make $32 an hour with a highschool diploma and things are tight even for me. Looking to move to a cheaper COL area.
Or cost of living needs to decrease, either way.
I just started my 3rd job. I’m going to quit one of them soon but it’s still a lot. I don’t think it’s going to get better any time soon and with climate change it’ll probably get worse. I’m just trying to get through the month now. I try to save for my older age but I’ll be honest it feels like a pipe dream. Even if I save a certain amount inflation will wipe it out anyway. Unless there’s widespread change I don’t know if life stages like retirement will ever exist again. I have a bad feeling that “retirement” will be hospice for a lot of people. Meaning we’ll all be working until we literally can’t anymore.
Inflation is driving everything up and wages are not keeping pace. This inflation has only been a big deal for the last three years.
I make around 100k and I’m just a dumb pipe welder. Get in the trades learn a skill and join a union
They don’t care tho
I played around with the CPI inflation calculator earlier today for kicks. Even though my salary has increased by what seems like a good margin over the last 12 or 13 years, adjusted for inflation I’m barely making $10,000 more in real terms. That sucks. No wonder I felt richer back then.
The company I work for underpays employees horribly….and doesn’t believe in raises…like raises are ghosts 🙄…
I am in the process of looking for another job but since I’m only looking at WFH positions there aren’t that many
