What do you feel “behind” in ? We can definitely waste time delaying our purpose but the right things often come to us at the right time. If it’s career, do you value the position or money? Because with the way the world is now the money difference can be made up in one year, or even one very lucky day
Dang, did I post this in my sleep from your account?
I floated around teaching and playing music for 3/4s of my 20s. In hindsight it was a fantastic experience but no long term opportunities really materialized out of it.
At 27 I got fed up with having no money and being miserable with “following my dreams” and took the first soulless corporate sales job I could find. That turned into a bunch of other things and now I’m in a stable tech /business role for a fortune 500.
About 4 years after recovering from homelessness. The right meds help a ton.
10 years 😭
No time is wasted if you’re just “doing.” Careers and life are not necessarily linear and clear. The more you are engaged, the more opportunities find you. Don’t stay on the sidelines cogitating, just do whatever you do, meet people, learn some new skills, take online classes, stay positive with people. Don’t get overwhelmed. Just one step helps you “see” where to go next.
Honestly things started working out for me when I found the right medication and gave up my recreational drug use. Wasn’t a complete deadbeat but it definitely held me back.
