Hey everyone! 👋 Have you ever been in a situation where your employer couldn’t afford to pay you for your hard work? I recently experienced this at a large event in my town, and I wanted to hear your thoughts on how to handle it. Here’s what happened:
– A friend asked me to work a 3 day event for £12 an hour with them.
– On the 2nd day, the employer mentioned they might not be able to pay me if things were slow.
– I made the tough decision to walk out and plan on sending an invoice on Monday.
What would you do in this situation? How do you think I should handle it moving forward?
I’m thinking of discussing this with them and possibly negotiating a fair compensation plan. What are your thoughts on this approach? Share your insights below! 🤔💬 #Discuss #EmployeeRights #HelpNeeded
Stand up for yourself. No one will do it for you.
Be sure to ask them if they can afford to deal with the department of labor when you tell them your wages are being stolen.
I would have taken my pay from the cash box before leaving
This doesn’t sound like a friend

You switched from “friend” to “employer” pretty quick.
So you didn’t end up getting paid? Tf? Take your money!
