Follow the smoke to the riff filled lands, my guy.
Except after a couple of months, you will realise the money was pretty handy and getting a100k job back isn’t that easy.
And being in your 30s and living with your parents ain’t that great either.
So dramatic for no reason. Just find another job that’s less stressful.
Have fun!! Enjoy nature and time with family. I’m rooting for you 🙂
Don’t quit, find a new job first. If you are remote don’t quit your current job, just kinda stop working when you start at the other place. You might be surprised how long job one may let you slide. Double pay 💰
PS – don’t let it slide more than a week, should do the right thing
No, don’t. You’ll regret it big time if you don’t have a backup plan
Almost everyone feels this way. It’s capitalism we have no choice. My friend told me once, no one enjoys working, that’s why they pay you to do it.
Bad day, not a bad life
I’m 33, stressed out, fat, and *don’t* have a high paying job.
Good luck.
Why not get a lower paying lower stress job
Can you find ways to eliminate all the negative aspects of the job?
100k in 2024 is poverty wages. I make more than that and am barely making it.
While I applaud you for your epiphany, maybe spend some time mapping out what you will be doing with your time and life.
Just use your paid leave, reassess, recharge, man.
What would you do if you were empowered to be a change agent in the company? How can you make yourself feel confident and empowered to carry out those ideas you answered to the previous question?
Was in the same boat, decided to make a change during covid. Left DC and moved somewhere much cheaper and closer to family in the country. The trick for me was getting a fully remote and less intense job at the DC salary level that did not care where I lived. So no dip in income but my expenses are a fraction of what they were. And with remote work I was able to make some small but impactful changes- having time to go to the gym on my lunch break for example or go for a nice walk, cooking a quick healthy meal instead of eating a sad packed lunch. The move has been pretty life changing for me, my day to day quality of life has drastically improved.
I’m in the same boat. I’ve been in sales my whole life and I hate it. I’m done and need to move on but have nothing else on my resume. Quitting means losing health insurance and being without a job for who knows how long. I’m going to search before I dip but I wish you the best of luck!
Honestly I want to do the same lol. The Corpo life is rough. I work on the commercial side of things and looking to quit, move sideways and find something WAY easier lol.
Funny i come across this post today because I was noticing my neighbors little girls outside playing today and realized how we took for granted our summers as youths not having many responsibilities at all. Ugh. How badly we want to grow up when we are young, and how badly we want to go back to that as we age. #depressing
