You can still go to law school. Get a good lsat and take a full ride to any offers of your choice.
I was able to break into insurance underwriting with no prior experience with my poly sci degree making 45k, used a temp agency and the company liked me and brought me on
Chin up bro! Rest up and start again until you succeed whatever the field.
What trade were you in that messed you up so bad? Iv been trying to get in to a trade.
Apply at your county clerk, entry level desk position doing tags. Follow up, shake lots of hands if you have to. Find the head of HR there and shoot them an email… if you get hired, six months later, can transfer to a host of nice, easy jobs with a pension.
You need to just chill out and do whatever it takes to survive. And not beat yourself up over not making bookoo bucks. Lots of people out there have similar situations and make the best of it. At any rate you should get the surgery you need for your shoulder. As far as your lungs go not sure if that’s something they can repair for you, but you can definitely get the shoulder fixed.Â
If nothing else dude, you’ll be on disability and won’t have to work anymore. What can you really ask of yourself?
Bro I am in the exact same boat, but 24. Business degree, have no idea what to do with my life besides sales and I’m afraid I’ll fail at it, and every other career seems bound to be replaced by AI. So I have no idea what to do
Manufacturing technology e.g. robots, assembly lines, etc.? High tech and highly sought after according to a recent TV news story.
I’ve been you, where everything sucks and you turn pessimistic so I would work on a bit of an attitude adjustment via working on yourself first. Hopefully you’ll be able to make some positive changes that helps you see things differently. Right now as you stand, you are your own worst enemy. Good luck
Hey, career consultant here. I hear a lot of pain in your words so I’m not sure how well you’ll receive this advice, but please know I mean this from a logical and helpful standpoint, always.
First off, you don’t have a useless degree and if I didn’t have some other bigger plans working behind the scenes for this group (I’m mod here), I’d make a FAQ stating this. NO degree is useless, you don’t have to enter the field in which your degree is in. Degrees are skeleton keys, not single-door keys, most degrees can enter most other doors (with the obvious exceptions of doctor, lawyer, engineer, scientist.)
Second, I want you to know that it isn’t over for you, but simply “what’s next?” I know you are tired. Burnt out. Exhausted emotionally. You can’t do trades or physical jobs, and you have office experience and sales experience. You are wonderfully positioned for a lot of very different opportunities! The only problem is the tiredness and the lack of clarity surrounding your next steps. What you like is still hidden, but you have more than enough evidence to figure out what’s best for you next (in a “the pieces are there” way, not in a “you should figure it out” way.)
The major question I want you to take time to think about is: What would I love to do in a perfect world where I was denied nothing?
Are you able to get in Nursing? Low probability of automation, pays well
I feel like I’m in a similar boat. I enjoy tech can work in it but it’s so hard to break into the field right now. I have massive social anxiety so dealing with people all day isn’t for me.
You’re living too much in your head. Go email the head of the Accounting at your local or state college. And see what they say about AI and jobs. Their email is on the college website. They respond fast and usually help people get hired with referrals and have years of experience in the field.
>Maybe I could try to get into Accounting? However, I believe AI could massively disrupt that field by the time I complete an accounting degree and obtain a CPA license. This would likely take 2-3 years. Two for the Bachelors and a year to study and take the CPA exam.
Licensing can never be replaced by AI short of changing the law. So fields like medicine, accounting, engineering, geoscience, etc which require a license by state regulation should be fine overall.
What is your first bachelors in?
