Have you ever considered attending a technical conference as a job search hack? 🤔 I recently went to one and was amazed at the opportunities that came my way, even though I wasn’t actively looking for a new job. Here’s why I think meeting people at a conference is a game-changer:
-
In-person connection: Meeting people face-to-face can leave a lasting impression, much more so than just sending out resumes online.
-
Networking: Conferences are filled with industry professionals, recruiters, and potential employers – the perfect place to expand your network.
- Recruiter interest: Even if you’re not currently looking for a job, recruiters may see potential in you and want to keep in touch for future opportunities.
If you’re looking to step up your job search game, attending industry conferences could be the key. Who knows, you might just stumble upon your dream job without even trying! 🌟 Make the most of these valuable networking opportunities and watch your job search prospects soar!💼🚀
So when you’re unemployed and broke, how do you pay for the conference tickets that are hundreds if not thousands of dollars?
This is the way. More connections are made at industry event than by applying to job postings.
But no actual job?
Millions of people have followed this advice and gotten nowhere with it.
I’m not saying don’t go to conferences or whatever but they can just as easily not lead to a job.
AKA networking. To those who have trouble getting jobs, meet people, speak to people, put yourself out there. If you have a job, do the same, meet people, go to the office, go to conferences, have coffee with colleagues who have left your company.
