#TeacherPayScale #CareerChange #PrimaryTeacherSalary
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m considering transitioning into a career as a primary school teacher and I have some questions about the pay scale. Can someone help clarify if I’m on the right track with my understanding?
Here’s what I’ve gathered so far:
– With an honours degree in science, I would need to complete a 1 year diploma to become a primary teacher.
– Would my starting salary be around $64,086 at Q4 – Step 3?
– It seems like there’s an opportunity for progression through annual assessments.
– Is it accurate that after 8 years, I could potentially reach the maximum for Q4M Step 10, which is currently $99,216?
Any insights or advice on navigating the primary teacher pay scale would be greatly appreciated! 🍎💰 Let me know what you think or if there are any resources I should check out. Thanks in advance! 📚 #TeachingCareer #SeekingAdvice #EducatorSalaries
If you have previous relevant work experience you could start on a higher step (if your employing principal considers it to be relevant).
Correct your starting salary would be at Q4E.
If you were to study the 2025 academic year, you would start in 2026 on $66586 provided a new PTCA hadn’t been settled on by Jan 2026.
I did try to post an image but it didn’t attach. Here’s a link to the part of the collective agreement on pay. *shudders*
This is how little they get paid?!
If you consider secondary, there are employment-based training options that will pay you while you re-train.
