Solutions to Consider
1. Embrace Your Vulnerability
It’s okay to feel unsure or hesitant at times. Embrace your vulnerability and recognize that it’s a normal part of the human experience. By acknowledging your fears and doubts, you can confront them head-on and work towards overcoming them.
2. Seek Support from Others
Don’t be afraid to reach out for help when you need it. Whether it’s talking to a friend, family member, or therapist, seeking support from others can provide you with a fresh perspective and guidance in navigating through your challenges.
3. Practice Self-Compassion
Be kind to yourself during difficult times. Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with understanding and forgiveness. Remember that everyone makes mistakes and faces challenges – it’s how you respond to them that matters.
4. Set Realistic Goals
Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps. Setting realistic goals can help you stay focused, motivated, and less overwhelmed. Celebrate your progress along the way to boost your confidence and drive.

Seems normal, I’m at JP in Canary Wharf (tech) and I get around 71K in total comp as a Senior Associate, others like me get around 91K in total.
Traders/sales do make more I think and ops make less, just how this go.
I imagine these figures are rather quaint to Americans.
What division? Varies a lot between them
Not my industry, but pretty comparable to our VP salaries. Just keeping in mind the base is either an average or median, and there’s a distribution around it, maybe +- I dunno, 30-40k… mmm… skewed to the upside.
About 25% too low assuming this is a front office VP1
This is legit. I am in the research department with numbers in that ballpark
This looks pretty low, this looks closer to like analyst 2/3 compensation. VPs in investment banking in the US would make close to $500K assuming the same bonus %s.
I made $303k as a senior assoc last year. I think I was pretty highly compensated but I also think this is a bit low for front office VPs.
If this is true (which I doubt) then I never realized the gap between EU and US was that large. I made $350K as an Assoc 2 in IB for 2023 and know that VP1 was at least $450K and last year was a down year…
I would be mindful of the answers here because a lot of people are anchored in US comp and are not familiar with the fact that UK comp is significantly lower. These numbers lower than what IB associates would make in the US, but only seem a bit lower than what you would see in the UK for a VP.
Too low, assuming this is a traditional role in IB
Base looks closer to senior associate than VP in my experience.
Seems low tbh
Edit: my dumbass glazed over GBP
This isn’t enough to do that job. Forgetting about all of the pain and suffering it takes to get there. If that job doesn’t pull down a half mil it’s just not worth it
Seems very low
