Is the Startup World Losing Its Spark?
Remember the days when startups were all about having fun, taking risks, and pushing boundaries? It seems like lately, the startup world has become far too serious and dull. The pressure to succeed, the obsession with metrics, and the focus on pedigree have sucked out the joy and excitement that used to define the startup ecosystem.
Bring Back the Fun!
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember the videos of genius co-founders presenting at events like TechCrunch Disrupt. The energy, the passion, and the sense of adventure were palpable in every pitch. These founders were not constrained by societal norms or industry standards – they were rebels with a cause, pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Why So Serious?
So, why has the startup world become so serious and dull? It seems like the focus has shifted from creativity and innovation to metrics and credentials. If you’re not a YC alum, a Harvard graduate, or a PhD in AI, good luck getting your foot in the door. The pressure to have amazing traction from day one has turned startups into soulless corporate entities.
Embrace the Spirit of Innovation
It’s time to bring back the spirit of innovation, creativity, and fun in the startup world. Let’s celebrate diversity, embrace failure, and encourage risk-taking. Let’s create a culture where being different is an asset, not a liability. Let’s inject a dose of playfulness and spontaneity back into the startup ecosystem.
Conclusion
As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the startup world, let’s not forget to have fun along the way. It’s okay to be serious about your mission and goals, but it’s also important to remember why you started this journey in the first place – because it was exciting, challenging, and above all, fun!
So, let’s put on our rebel hats, roll up our sleeves, and bring back the spark that made the startup world such an exhilarating place to be!

Too many serious boring people in tech these days.
It used to be a bunch of visionaries. Then everyone who wanted to make a quick buck rushed in
More urge to create real value than during the ZIRP days. And rightly so. I saw so much money get burned for nothing.
I have worked for a handful of startups in EU over the years, and most founders have an old fashioned mentality. My current CEO has micromanaged our product into an ugly mess that PMs want nothing to do with.
