Hey everyone! π Are you tired of being stuck at a desk all day like me? I’m currently a software developer making $71K CAD in Toronto, but I’m looking for a change. π»β‘οΈπΆββοΈ
I’ve been researching and wondering – are there any well-paying jobs that get you away from a desk? π€ Here are some options I’ve come across that might interest you:
– Sales Representative: involves meeting with clients and traveling for meetings
– Project Manager: requires overseeing projects and can involve site visits
– Pilot: if you’re interested in aviation, this could be a lucrative and exciting option βοΈ
– Event Coordinator: involves planning events and could require traveling
I’m personally considering a career in project management to get me out and about while still earning a good salary. What do you think? Any other suggestions or insights? Let’s discuss! π¬
$52k usd for me would be ok, not the best but I would be comfortable
Manufacturing. If you have computer skills there is a lot you can do.
If the job has the potential to make 150K, and it is a matter of yrs experience.
Why not, stay at the job or move to another company in same area for more money? If it is like that in CA, here in US.
Join a running group or activities group if offered in the company. (Ours had a running group, wh met during lunch and would run as a group in marathons)
Or join a gym, classes after work or on weekends.
Healthcare. Not all of it would be away from a desk but a good deal. You can get a certificate degree pretty quickly and go into things like radiology tech, phlebotomy, etc.

All the office jobs will be replaced by AI by 2035. Letβs be realistic. Donβt plan on longevity with computer / sedentary like jobs. Those will be the first on the chopping block when the time comes.
I’m on the sem boat, I do data analytics and I like it but hate it. I csn an entire day without seeing anyone.
I wouod like a an engineering job where you use your hands more but those jobs are not easy to find.
Software development? Better position at a different company or completely different field. Coding is not something you can do while walking around

just sayin fine things that support your goals and immediate needs, more than one stream is ideal they all lead to the ocean (your bank) haha
Sure but theyβre usually ruin your body. I guess look into road work or construction
Iβve been considering land surveying recently. High potential earnings and seems like a good mixture of office/field work. More field work on the entry level stuff though.
I got into the trades at 29 and I love it. It’s only hard on the body if you refuse to look after yourself and you stay at the bottom of the pole – with your background, you’d probably find yourself running work after you learn what’s going on.
Edit: I didn’t see that you’ve tried that path, however I will gently suggest you re-consider!
