It’s important to always have a plan in place for ensuring your safety when faced with a potentially dangerous situation. Whether you’re being followed by someone or feeling uncomfortable in a certain environment, hotels can provide a safe haven and help you get away from someone. Here’s how hotels can be a lifesaver in such scenarios:
1. **Temporary Shelter**: If you’re being followed or feel threatened by someone, head to the nearest hotel to seek temporary shelter. Hotels are equipped with security measures and trained staff who can assist you in staying safe until the situation is resolved.
2. **Alternative Exits**: Hotels often have multiple entrances and exits, which can be beneficial in evading someone who is following you. Simply inform the hotel staff of your situation, and they can help you discreetly leave through a different door to avoid any potential danger.
3. **Seeking Assistance**: If you find yourself in a situation where you feel unsafe, approach the front desk of a hotel and explain your predicament. Hotel staff are trained to handle such situations and can provide the necessary assistance, whether it’s contacting law enforcement or providing a safe place for you to wait until help arrives.
4. **Creating a Distraction**: In some cases, you can use the presence of a hotel to create a diversion and deter someone who is following you. Just like in the example shared, you can lie and say you’re staying at the hotel with friends, which can discourage the individual from pursuing you further.
When it comes to potentially dangerous situations, prioritizing your safety is paramount. Hotels can be a valuable resource in helping you escape from someone and ensuring that you’re out of harm’s way.
Remember, it’s always better to be proactive and assertive when it comes to your safety. Whether it’s seeking refuge in a hotel, seeking help from the hotel staff, or creating a diversion, having a plan in place can make all the difference in ensuring your well-being.
Stay safe, and don’t hesitate to utilize the resources available to you in times of need. Your safety is always the top priority.
Also if you need a cab and you donβt have your cell charged up, the front desk will call anyone a cab.
Iβm not sure why people do not think of it more often, but also know where the police station is. If someone is following you, drive there, and pull right up to the front door, regardless of what the parking lines say.
Some supermarkets in Britain have free phones for taxis.
Great tip. It’s unfortunate that people need to know this in the first place because people are weird
Did you know that hotels can be a great escape from someone? They offer a temporary refuge where you can find solace and peace. It’s like a little sanctuary that allows you to recharge and rejuvenate. So next time you need a break, consider checking into a hotel for some much-needed alone time.
I was staying at a hotel in India and in the lobby which was the only place with WiFi. A man kept insisting I go have dinner with him and wouldn’t take no for an answer. I left the lobby for my room, making sure he wasn’t following me. Guess what? One of the employees told him what my room number was because he first started blowing up my room phone, then pounding on my door. I didn’t sleep at all that night in fear that he’d find a way in. This was in Khajuraho and I was harassed like nowhere else on the street and by the monuments as well (I’ve traveled all over India and the world and I’m from a country where women are harassed a lot, and this was a lot even by my standards).
