Hey there, fellow devs! ๐ Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you have years of experience under your belt, a solid skill set, and great feedback from colleagues, but still keep receiving rejection emails from companies you apply to on LinkedIn? ๐ค
I recently came across a post from a backend developer with 7+ years of experience, primarily working with .NET and PostgreSQL, who’s been facing this exact issue. They’ve been getting those dreaded generic rejection messages and their LinkedIn inbox is as empty as can be. ๐
They’re seeking some advice on how to improve their chances and stand out to potential employers. If you have a moment, take a look at their CV here: CV link and provide some feedback on how they can enhance their profile and boost their job search.
Possible solutions and recommendations to consider:
- Tailor your CV to each job application, highlighting relevant skills and experience
- Customize your LinkedIn profile to showcase your expertise and accomplishments
- Network with professionals in your field and engage with industry thought leaders
- Consider seeking the help of a professional resume writer or career coach for personalized guidance
Let’s lend a helping hand and share our insights to support our fellow developer in navigating their job search journey! ๐ผโจ #CommunitySupport

For my suggestions I would say put ur title as Senior Software Engineer and add more tech to skills section for better keyword match with job descriptions.
Add a mixture of both business impact and technical impact like optimizing, increasing performance of something.
Your bullet points are vague. Tell us what you built and value. Saying you updated onboarding docs for instance is nice but not showing your actual technical skills
Example:
I recently created a feature that was blocking my company from migrating customers from a competitors app who had a similar feature. Company estimated it was worth x millions based on the customers agreeing to migrate once we built it. I architected and deployed it. One bullet point I might have is:
โArchitected and built x feature for y app, unblocking z number of customers to migrate to our app and leading to $xxx million in added revenueโ
The above is rough but you get the point, start with an action word to describe what you did and the benefits.
Also drop your education, you donโt have a degree and dropping out is a red flag. Use your experience to sell yourself.
Agree with the comment by mediocreDev313. Also, a suggestion: try removing the country from your companies. Might be people are seeing ‘UK’ and thinking you need sponsorship.
This has to be a troll post. No way your resume is that bad ๐
There is no way you actually wrote those bullets with this phrasing and expect anyone to take you seriously? I’m assuming you modified it some to keep yourself anonymous, but even still it reads terribly.
>Reach 1M+ things arranged by users in the first year. Led the extension of the barcode generation to support something, negotiating with the core teams
Come on.
Anyone read this: OP does not have undergrad.
Experience first, education to the bottom, delete about me, reduce the white space in your skills section, fill out your experience with whatever youโre referring to in your LinkedIn, make sure your tenses are correct throughout experience.
How did you get a bachelor degree in 8 months? Your CV looks very low effort/unprofessional with language such as “some bad stuff” and “that thing”.
