#Nurses #HealthcareHeroes #EmployeeRecognition
Hey everyone! 👋 Has anyone else experienced a seemingly tone-deaf gesture of appreciation from their employer? My girlfriend, who is an ICU nurse, went through a rough time during covid. Her hospital’s HR wasn’t the most supportive, but after everything, they decided to thank the nurses with a gift.
And what was that gift, you ask? 🍎 An apple. Not the technology brand, but the fruit kind. In a box. With a note saying “keep the peach” in French. It’s been a few years, but we still puzzle over it at times.
Have you ever received a strange or underwhelming gift from an employer, especially after a challenging period? How did you handle it? And what do you think could be a more appropriate way to show appreciation to essential workers like nurses? Let’s share our thoughts and maybe come up with some valuable solutions together! 💡
Here are a few possible solutions:
– Implement a transparent recognition program with meaningful rewards
– Provide additional paid time off or mental health resources for frontline workers
– Organize a team-building activity or event to boost morale and show appreciation
Can’t wait to hear your experiences and ideas! Let’s discuss and support each other. 💬 #EmployeeAppreciation #WorkplaceRecognition #SupportWorkers
They should have taken after the French and pelted apples at the upper management until conditions improved
One apple??? Cripes. That is on par with “the employee appreciation pizza party.”
Funny, just came across a post asking, what would happen, if another epidemic strikes.
So, how many middle fingers would your GF present if her employer tells the team tough challenges await?
One apple a day…
She probably made huge bank over COVID. I know a nurse who made over 200k with the overtime. I know it is a crappy gift but I am guessing she was well compensated.
Any birthday or retirement gifts to upper management should now be apples.
