City. The resources I had and the connections I could make.
Idk if it’s quite rural, but definitely far from suburbs or city. With little light pollution the night sky is gorgeous, being able to see the entire galaxy on a clear night is an unbeaten feeling.
City. I hated it. The crimes and everything about it. I never felt safe. Then around 12 years old, my mom moved us 45 minutes north into the suburbs. I felt safe for the first time. I liked it and now that I’m older with my own kid, we’re still here.
Rural but on the edge of the suburbs. I hated it, it felt isolated. I always had to beg my parents to drive me places because nothing and no one was close by. The darkness fell so heavily that it always felt spooky at night.
But I sometimes miss the sounds of nature and the peace of the forest. I wanted so badly to live in a city but I don’t feel comfortable here.
A suburban city, if that makes sense. Grew up, and still live in, the most populated city in my state. It’s densely populated but there’s lots of small neighborhoods, no big buildings so doesn’t quite have that “big city” feel, just lots of people. The thing I liked most about it, and why I stay here, is the cultural diversity, due mostly to all the military personnel that live here.
I grew up on the fringe of suburbs/rural of a major city, so got to see things go from deep forests, farmlands, and 2 lane highways to 6 lane highways and sprawling suburbia.
It was neat kinda seeing the area change about the same rate as I myself was growing up. And especially experience culture changing, being comfortable as a country bumpkin, a suburbanite, and then a city slicker as an adult XD
I grew up in a small city in the deep south. No sky scrapers or anything like that. I liked it enough. That city has gone way downhill since we all graduated and left. I definitely prefer the Metro area I live in now. More options for everything.
Grew up rural, now live in the city, prefer the city tbh
City. The only thing I liked was the easy access to the beach, mountains, other countries and the next door big city otherwise there’s much more things I didn’t like to the point I was on a mission to leave it.
