One certificate that can really open doors and lead you towards a more fulfilling career is the Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification. 🏢✨
🔑 Why CFM? Well, this certification validates your skills and expertise in building maintenance and facilities management – right up your alley! 💼💡 Having a CFM on your resume instantly sets you apart and shows potential employers that you’re serious about your profession.
Once you earn your CFM certificate, you’ll unlock a world of possibilities, such as snagging high-paying positions like facilities manager, maintenance supervisor, or even transitioning into project management roles! 💼💲💼
Not convinced yet? Let me give you a couple of real-life examples to whet your appetite! 🌟
Meet Rachel – just like you, she worked in building maintenance but wanted to level up her career and earnings. 💪 Rachel decided to pursue her CFM certification, and guess what? With her new qualification, she scored an amazing job as a facilities manager at a prestigious company. 🌟💼✨ Rachel loves her new role, enjoys a better salary, and now wakes up on Mondays looking forward to the day ahead!
And then there’s Mark – he had been living paycheck to paycheck as a maintenance worker. 🛠️ But Mark knew he deserved better. He took the plunge and obtained his CFM certification. The impact? So, my friend, the CFM certification could be your ticket to a brighter, more rewarding career. Start by researching reputable organizations that offer the CFM program, such as the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). They provide training, resources, and support to help you succeed on your certification journey. 🌐📚
Remember, investing in yourself is never a waste! By obtaining a CFM certificate, you’ll gain invaluable knowledge, prove your expertise, and show potential employers that you’re committed to professional growth. 💼💪

Get your black seal and work as a boiler operator. They make solid income and don’t really have to do a whole lot on the day to day.
This will tie in nicely with your experience and will make you a desirable candidate.
Got certificated in American Sign Language and work for a university library. The school has a large deaf hard of hearing student community and boy did they find out fast. Learning any common language is very beneficial for work.

Lean six sigma Master black belt
It’s a very specialised certificate for a niched role. So if you can find the right company that would need it, it can be very lucrative
Even black belts are 100-150k a year
Experienced MBBs are easily getting 250k
Just make sure you get it from a recognized source
You should specify what career field you’re looking for work in or interested in. It’s difficult to provide good information given that there are thousands of certificates that fit your criteria.

If you are a people person/a decent salesman, look into mortgage lending. You don’t even need a high school diploma to get licensed and recruiters will call you non-stop once you are. Only downside is that it is pretty much entirely commission based and a deal can fall through at any time for a plethora of reasons. Even now during a rough market, I get 3-5 recruitment solicitations per month and I’m not even active in the industry at the moment.
For residential building/apartment maintenance- CAMT certs, EPA 608, OSHA 10/30, CAPS cert
Birth certificate. Before it I was basically in the dark.
I got my plumbing and gas journeyman 4 years after high school and have made 6 figures ever since. I now work for myself and approaching 7 figures
A degree isn’t the only way. Most of my friends with degrees can’t afford a home

I got my Class A CDL. I now have a comfortable 50k+ a year job that’s stupid easy, low-stress, and not a drain on my free time. I also always have 150k+ yearly job opportunities in my back pocket if I ever want to go on-the-road delivering Liquid Nitrogen, carrying fuel long-distances, or working on the oil fields.
Epic certifications
Microsoft certifications in Word and Excel can get you in the door at a law firm. Will start out as low to decent money, but depending on your work, can increase pretty fast. Managing law firm secretaries, it can go over 6 figures.
I got certified by SHRM and then I was fast tracked to be hired on full-time at a place I was temping. It was a complete surprise. Almost approaching a year later.

Take a look at local community colleges and technical schools. Both should list certificates that they offer. Figure out what you want to do based on what is available to you. If you don’t mind putting in the time technical colleges offer a wide range of associates degrees. HVAC is a popular one where I am because of the long hot summers. Those guys do pretty well for themselves but I’m not sure how labor intensive it is. If you’ve been doing building maintenance then you may want to look into becoming a property inspector. If you are into computers there are lots of certificates and degree’s available. Keep in mind that anything you choose to do will require gaining experience along with whatever education you get.
I enrolled in a six month medical billing program at a community college and finished this past summer. The program was affiliated with some hospitals and I interviewed for the billing coordinator position with two different hospitals. I’m on my third week now as a biller for governmental health plans working remotely. Pay is 50k starting but the benefit package is decent. Prior to this, I was a chronic job hopper and had a bunch of different random jobs on my resume and no college degree, just some college education unrelated to healthcare. Something you might consider if you’re into working in front of a computer from 9-5 on weekdays.
