Go to the library. You can borrow books and movies from just about all of them. My local one also loans out musical instruments, board games and passes to local parks and events.
Go to the park, feed the ducks, go deer spotting in the grounds of an old, local stately home that’s free if you don’t go in the house lol and go to the library
Walking, riding my bike, sitting outside and people watch
Video games, board games, listen to music, have friends over, visit family, go for a walk in the country, going for a bike ride, reading, spending quality time with my cat, looking back at old photos, watch films, look at houses I can’t afford on RightMove. My husband and I have a pub shed in our back garden (don’t ask) so if we have a free weekend we go in there for a drink together, blast some music and dance together.
Probably walking π for everything else u gotta pay some money at some point π

I love hiking! Itβs not always free but some trails are free. Itβs always really neat spotting different birds or vegetation while hiking.
I also walk a lot , I walk about 3 miles around my neighborhood with my dog, we love that.
Reading books
The beach is also really awesome you can swim out there, lay out there, build sand castles!
I read, and if thereβs a book that I want thatβs not available online for free or at the library, Iβll just add it to a list and share that list with close friends and family who ask what Iβd like for a gift for either Christmas or my birthday. So technically itβs free, to me. I also like walking, riding my bike, riding my skates, using my townhomeβs gym, watching videos online, listening to podcasts, watching movies on free apps, looking up new recipes, taking a drive, visiting friends, board games, etc.
Hiking (mostly free unless you go to a national park or something)
Not every video game I play was free to purchase, but every game I already own is now βfreeβ to play again.
Go to the library and walk in the forest with my headphones on
digital art is a great one. everything is stored on your device. doesnβt take up supplies or materials. iβd highly suggest anyone who likes art to get into it if they arenβt already. itβs very relaxing

Ask your library about them purchasing the book. Also ask them if they can get it through interlibrary loans.
Everything thats worthwhile is for free. If it involves money its a trap.
Long walks, reading (Libby on Kindle), meditating, journaling, yoga, painting, museums, educational videos on YouTube, list is endless really. I think free fun is baseline – being able to ground in and enjoy your own energy without needing $$ – and fun you spend on is a treat.
