ted lasso was one of the best shows i’ve seen in the last couple of years
The Great North!
I’m biased because I’m from Alaska originally. But it’s brilliant.
The Good Place, on Netflix ticked my funnybone.
Because if a tv show isnβt super successful, breaking records and snatching Emmyβs on its first season, then it gets cancelled immediately.
We have shareholders and business minded capitalists in charge of and in power at Hollywood and it is killing art.
Try Resident Alien
Resident Alien is a good one!
Young Sheldon is better than it has any right to be, and surpasses TBBTheory in every conceivable way.Β
The Neighborhood
Well, to me Superstore and Brooklyn 99 were awesome feel good tv shows.
Also older : Chuck, Raising Hope, Malcolm, Earl.
Fresh Off the Boat was a delight
Great News on Netflix is pretty feelgood. I loved it.
Give me more seasons of Brooklyn 99
Bobs burgers for sure. To answer your question, I think America has had a mental health crisis since COVID. Shows that arenβt popular wonβt take off because they donβt make money. A lot of people in a MH crisis donβt want to see everyone else being happy when they canβt find that within themself.
If you watch Breaking Bad in reverse order it’s an inspirational story about a guy who loses a lot of money, but he beats cancer, quits the drug business, and regains the trust and love of his family. And his business partner quits meth and goes back to school. And then he gets a job on a popular sitcom.
Ghosts, Young Sheldon (really didn’t like big bang theory, but the casting for young Sheldon is great), Resident Alien, Ted Lasso, Acapulco, Shrinking, to name a few.
It’s animated, but Bob’s Burgers is arguably closer to this than it is to other adult cartoons.
People hate joy.
One of the best comedies Iβve seen in recent years is Episodes. Two British writers take their hit UK show to Hollywood and hilarity ensues. Also stars Matt LeBlanc playing an asshole version of himself in by far the funniest work heβs ever done. I wouldnβt exactly call it feel good and it can be a bit blue at times but itβs VERY funny. Not many people have seen it but Iβve never heard anyone say they watched it and didnβt like it.
Idk I just watched the office and super store for awhile till I was done then what we do in the shadows then resident alien so idk again
Acapulco on AppleTV+
Kim’s convenience, Abbot elementary, slightly older but Schitts Creek.Β
I’ve heard “Bluey” is like this.
Also “Atypical” was much like this
Not Dead Yet is great!
Kim’s Convenience
The good place?
Ghosts may be what you’re looking for.
Maybe it is due to the writer’s strike a few months ago.
Animal Control, Bobβs Burgersβ¦
Lower Decks π
Anyone watch Animal Control? I loved Community so I feel like I should give it a shot. Looks like a feel-good comedy.
For the love of everything that’s holy, please check out Joe Pera on HBO. It’s a little odd, but painfully wholesome. It’s like Ted lasso but better
I like Abbot Elementary
Have you watched Young Sheldon? It surprised me with its quality, it’s pretty funny, while also being able to have serious moments.
Sheldon himself is actually cute in early seasons, and while he does become more insufferable as be grows up, by then you’ll probably already be pretty invested on his siblings, who are great.
My theory is the lighting/camera quality. I hate the lighting/camera quality in newer comedy shows and in later episodes of older shows like Modern Family. The feeling changes drastically. It’s very harsh and doesn’t feel as comforting or like you can distract yourself. Watch the first episode of Modern Family and the last and don’t focus on the plot–just the visuals.
I think the show Young Sheldon did a good job at finding a nice line between modern cameras and the way shows used to look.
brooklyn 99
was incredible
new sitcoms are always being made, most of them just never take off and become popular and get cancelled real fast lol.
there will be always be more.
I’d say Not Dead Yet is pretty feel-good, but it’s just been cancelled after 2 seasons.
That’s the first time I’ve ever heard anyone describe The Big Bang Theory as a “feel good” show…
I like Ghosts.
Itβs not the force fed nonsense filled with laugh tracks.
Abbott elementary is what you’re looking forΒ
like Ted Lasso? That show is super popular
