3. **Community Involvement**: Rich neighborhoods could foster a sense of community involvement and volunteerism towards helping the homeless.
4. **Reduced Stigma**: Interaction with the homeless in a familiar setting could help reduce the stigma associated with homelessness.
5. **Long-term Solutions**: By integrating the homeless into affluent communities, long-term solutions such as job training and housing assistance could be more easily implemented.
### Challenges and Considerations
– Resistance from affluent residents who may not want homeless individuals in their neighborhoods.
– Lack of infrastructure and support systems to accommodate the homeless in rich areas.
– Perceptions of safety and property values may be negatively impacted.

They actively do whatever they can to keep homeless out of wealthy areas. In Lake Oswego, Portland area they stopped from building a max train service from there to downtown. Just to keep homeless out of Lake Oswego.
Lake Oswego also had “no selling this property to black people” on the original deeds to the lots when it was developed.
it would be treated as a violent riot by police and swat probably, at behest of their owners. police would love nothing more than to go around beating and arresting weak innocents who cant fight back
I think you under estimate americas polices ability to clear out the homeless!!
You’d be amazed how fast police would show up and violently remove them along with anybody else recording what’s happening. Then the media would either pretend it never happened or severely downplay the violence and tell you why it was a good thing.
Then, the police will go back to your neighborhood preying on people going to work looking for tickets to write.
Do you mean this globally, or just for the country you’re in? Where are you referring to?
As a home insecure advocate, we tried that in Bel Air and other affluent neighborhood zone, strategically placing our home insecure members in dark, quiet places. They were quickly arrested and dispersed across the state. We still haven’t all of our founding members. It is sickening and saddening the state of affairs.

This is a great way to get the homeless killed by the National Guard.
They would be disappeared in minutes
They’d get murdered by the cops.
Plot twist: this is being suggested by a republican as a way to kill off the homeless faster
They already do this in every major city. The only people rich enough for this to bother can and will move or build a fence/HUGEFUKINGWALL!
Great way to get them all killed
That’s a good way to get the homeless killed and arrested by police
In America? Mass arrests with a 10% mortality rate.
Who is going to transport the homeless to rich suburb? There is a reason why 99% of the homeless are in urban cities.
And who says they are not going to be able to clear them? Just look at how fast homeless are being clear when there is an event. The only reason why urban cities tolerate them is because some part of the population (i.e. the poorest part) is more accepting.
In rich neighorhoods, you will get zero sympathy.
They will be removed.
By cops

They would get hurt. The police would be the first to get there. 🙁 not a smart move.
Yes, they would too get “cleared out” quickly: they’d be beaten, brutalized, have all their belongings destroyed and thrown away, and be locked up and given some bullshit charges in a fucking ***heartbeat***
There’s a reason they don’t do this voluntarily. It’s called self preservation. In some cities I travel through you can see the geographical line of demarcation that homeless people know not to cross.
I don’t want to be mean to you if you’re a child. Are you a child? This feels like the kind of thing a child would conceive of as a good idea.
They did this in Portland, and the residents just threw fits until the authorities came and swept the camps.
They’d never let that happen!! And by “they,” I mean our wealthy overlords and their Praetorian guard.
This would only traumatize them more due to almost seeming like a trap for folks deprived of housing
We can organize better than this
A better thing is cities partnering with churches to open shelters
You’re a chicken shit! Instead of using homeless, pack your shit up and go yourself. It’s a just cause if you can get someone you see as beneath you to do the dirty work, right?
That’s pretty much the reason they invented policing in America…
as someone that works in affluent neighborhoods, they don’t even need to call police.
they usually have private security forces that use a number of different tactics.
they usually get the look of the vehicles as close to cop cars as possible, and are equipped with better gear. they usually employ off duty police officers.
also these people have more cameras than you would believe.
Actually, they would be harassed and removed immediately. Cities routinely clear homeless encampments with little to no notice. They’d be twice as quick to do it in a rich neighborhood.
Here, I’ll give ya the alternative a local lady came up with.
She set three wealthy neighborhoods on fire last summer. Messages spraypainted on nearby bridges were along the lines of “If we aren’t allowed to live like humans then FUCK YOU nobody is!”
Fun part is that she only got arrested because she kept walking up to cops after each fire and asking “Are you going to arrest me?” It took three tries before they finally connected the dots and obliged her! Like she had to really make a fuss directly at a cop even after they worked out there was an arsonist on the loose!
They didn’t do much damage, I’d never seen fire response like that before! But you know that thing folks say about “god helps those that help themselves?” It was like she did the best she could and mother nature/climate change did the rest. In unrelated massive wildfires later that summer, about three suburbs burned right off the city. So many wealthy people displaced, so much local sadface and tiny violins as all the higher class hotels for hundreds of miles around filled up.
Its pretty fucked up to suggest that. They have enough problems, they don’t need to be used as weapons to hide behind.
If you want change why not do an occupy wall street thing.
They would be cleared out before the first tent was pegged. The rich look out for the rich.
