#CompanyPolicy #5thOfJuly #EmployeeBenefits
Hey team! 👋 I’m in a bit of a pickle and could use some advice. What is your company’s policy for the 5th of July this year? I have about 30 employees and I’m trying to decide what the best course of action is:
– Give the Day off 🎉
– Allow them to take PTO 🏖️
– Make them work 💼
Personally, I’m leaning towards giving them the day off as a way to show appreciation for all their hard work. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts and suggestions! 🤔 #TeamWork #EmployeeEngagement
Give them the day off
Offer a half-day on the 3rd (it’ll likely be a wash anyhow) and expect them in on the 5th unless they choose to take PTO.
We just give it off,non paid, not terribly busy. Makes em happy.
I discussed it with my former CEO. Things are slow right now, so we are giving them it off (paid).
We are in Construction and have ~10 guys in the field as superintenants. I don’t think any of them will be working as well, but if they have subcontractors working or inspections already scheduled for that day then they need to be on site working
We happen to be rolling out a new soft phone solution this Friday, so the catch is I the office staff to all have the soft phones installed on their cell phones and be avilable for any calls from our field staff (which is not likely since they should be off as well).
Everyone agreed we can’t leave our guys in the field high and dry.
You’ll build better company morale giving them the day off because you will come across as a boss that cares about their employees.
They give us two floating holidays a year on top of earned PTO. If you want the 5th off feel free to use PTO or a floating holiday.
I have a smaller company, we are appointment only.
If you scheduled it off before clients book in you don’t work.
I don’t really control schedules, we pay on a sliding commission scale to motivate revenue so it hurts them more than me when they take an extra day off.
we were given the fifth off (paid). however, my jobs requires a lot of “off the clock work” like weekends and evening events so it helps it to even out.
lol at my old job we had to work 7/5 and got a threatening email telling us to not get drunk and show up hungover
We have unlimited pto so everyone takes it off. My boss said we’d have to work, bit in not gonna
Assert your dominance. Give them the day off. Add signage on every wall that suggests they are soulless slaves. Send out a memo that the day off was to allow for these large wall-to-wall reminders of their lives being the property of YOU.
OR, hear me out, OR you could do something nice like give them the day off, paid, like a decent person who cares about their employees.
Work but you can use a PTO day if you like.
Paid day off for us.
