Alien spaceship crash. I live in Roswell, New Mexico.
Fun fact: Back in the 80s we worked on a ranch for the Bogles family that had bought the place the crash happened on. My husband had rounded up that pasture a number of times. He said you could see that something had hit the ground and dug a trench. He took us out to see it once but the only thing that remains is the trench and it’s all grown over, but you **can** see it. The crash happened close to Corona and the closest Military base was Roswell. Nothing really happened here **in** town.

(There’s too many thing’s we’re famous for. So I’m using…metaphor)
We were the second city of Empire and now we’re the unpredictable western child basking in the afterglow of a long British sunset, playing with the stars and throwing them at you for shits and giggles. We built the railways that many countries still use to this day to transport goods and people on. We built ships that travelled the world under wind, wood, coal, diesel and now electric. We brew poison and mead. We make you laugh, make you cry, make you scream, make you *groan* and we look fucking fabulous doing so. We create and created fear and terror and glamour and sex and beauty and ugliness in equal measures. We’re the wildest of eight sisters and we’re the city that terrified London so fucking much that they locked our soldiers in their barracks and threatened to shoot people on sight. We’re the city of watercolours, of gloss, of grime, of paper and of sound. We’re ancient. We’re modern. Our voices can make you stamp your feet or make you shit yourself. We’re passion. We’re derision. We’re not you. We’re better. We’re *infinite*. We’re the city of three rivers and science owes so fucking much to us. We’re singular. We’re plural. We are white, brown, black, yellow, we are everyone and anyone and we are coming for *you*. We can be shelter, we can be shield, we can and will be your weapon to use against those who hurt you (but the blade is so fickle and cuts so deep if you wrong us). Our kisses bruise and our smiles are deadly.

A pretty famous 1990’s serial killer lived within walking distance of my neighborhood. He buried multiple bodies on his property. There is a walking trail that goes right by his entire property. He killed himself in 1995 I believe after police were on his trail. They are still trying to match remains with missing people.
