#SecPlus #Cybersecurity #ITCareer
Hey everyone! 🎉 I recently passed my Security+ exam, and now I’m ready to take the next step in my career. I don’t have much IT experience, but I do have my Sec+, Google professional IT certificate, Google Professional Cybersecurity Certificate, and an AA degree.
I’m looking for some advice on where to start applying for jobs. Can you help me out? 🤔
Here are a few possible solutions:
– Look for entry-level cybersecurity analyst positions
– Consider applying for IT support specialist roles
– Explore opportunities as a junior security consultant
Any other suggestions? Your insights would be greatly appreciated! Let’s help each other grow in our careers. 💪🏼 #CareerAdvice #JobSearch
Get real experience?
How?
The fuck I know, when I joined IT all you needed was a pulse and some computer literacy.
Get a helpdesk job, and get your Network+ or CCNA next. Helpdesk will open up more doors for you and you will go far.
Context, I was in the helpdesk for 9 months, and now I’m a cybersecurity analyst and I never look back!
Now you make a thread about the 400 applications you’ve sent in and still haven’t found a job
Really.y advice is apply for short term contract gigs doing helps desk or IT support. The ones were they have to have a body. I would have hired you into our NOC we hired people worse than you for our late shifts.
Entry level IT is where you start. Your Sec+ probably won’t get you a dedicated security job. Your Google certs are not valued by HR departments in regards to IT positions. Your Associates degree also won’t move the needle much. Especially against others who have a Bachelors.
