#AppleProducts #WorstAppleProduct #TechFails
🍎 Have you ever experienced the frustration of owning a faulty Apple product? It’s a nightmare when a device that should enhance your life ends up causing more stress than anything else. In this article, we’ll discuss some of the worst Apple products ever released and why they fell short of expectations.
## What makes a product the worst?
Before we dive into specific Apple products that have disappointed consumers, let’s explore what criteria make a product deserving of the title “the worst.” Here are some factors that can contribute to a poorly received product:
1. **Design flaws**: Aesthetically unappealing or cumbersome design can hinder the user experience.
2. **Performance issues**: Slow operating speed, frequent crashes, and other performance-related problems can frustrate users.
3. **Battery life**: Devices with short battery life or quick drainage can be a major inconvenience.
4. **Lack of innovation**: Consumers expect Apple products to push boundaries and set new standards in the tech industry. Products that fail to deliver on this front may disappoint users.
## The worst Apple products you should avoid:
### 1. Apple Maps
Do you remember the disastrous launch of Apple Maps in 2012? This navigation app was meant to rival Google Maps but ended up leading users astray with incorrect directions and missing landmarks. Some of the major issues with Apple Maps included:
– Incorrect location information
– Lack of public transportation directions
– Inadequate data coverage in rural areas
Despite several updates over the years, Apple Maps has failed to gain the trust of users and remains one of the most infamous Apple products ever released.
### 2. MacBook Butterfly Keyboard
The MacBook Butterfly keyboard was introduced in 2015 with the promise of quieter and more responsive typing experience. However, many users soon discovered a flaw in the keyboard mechanism that caused keys to become stuck or unresponsive. Some common complaints about the MacBook Butterfly keyboard include:
– Sticky keys
– Random keystrokes
– Inconsistent typing experience
Apple faced backlash over the faulty MacBook Butterfly keyboard and eventually discontinued it in favor of a more reliable keyboard design.
### 3. iPhone 6 Bendgate
The iPhone 6 was a highly anticipated release in 2014, but it quickly gained notoriety for its susceptibility to bending under normal usage conditions. This issue, known as “Bendgate,” became a major headache for Apple as consumers shared photos and videos of their bent iPhones on social media. Some key reasons behind the iPhone 6 Bendgate include:
– Thin and flexible aluminum frame
– Lack of structural reinforcement
– Poor durability testing
Apple responded to the Bendgate controversy by reinforcing the iPhone frame in later models, but the damage to its reputation had already been done.
## Conclusion:
In the world of tech innovation, not every product can be a hit. Apple, known for its revolutionary products, has also had its fair share of misses over the years. From navigation app disasters to keyboard malfunctions and structural issues, some Apple products have left a sour taste in the mouths of consumers.
As a consumer, it’s essential to stay informed about the potential pitfalls of new tech products before making a purchase. By learning from the missteps of the past, you can make more informed decisions when shopping for Apple products. Remember, not every shiny new gadget lives up to the hype.

The butterfly keyboard on the 2015 Apple MacBook
Magic Keyboard. Also, Magic Mouse.
Airpods
iPod Socks. Nobody has feet that small.
*Truth: I bought a pack of five iPod Socks and they’ve lasted longer than every iPod I’ve ever owned.*
Podcasts app. Absolutely horrendous to navigate.
Magic Mouse
The lightning to 3.5 dongles fail at an alarming rate
Apple Music is a joke compared to the simplicity of iTunes. Having to “sync” libraries to access certain streaming functions is nonsense and completely disregards that significant parts of my music library are my own music and sound projects. I have a lot of rare music that no streaming service will carry and I don t need everything in AAC. Won’t show me my iPhone because it’s “open in another window”? Then take me there! Two search windows? And why are playlists suddenly this useless new layout? Even the name “Music” is a headache. Where are my music files now kept? Inside a folder called “Music”, inside a folder called “Media”, inside another folder called “Music”, inside another folder called “Music”.
Airpods
My iPhone!
(Also the *only* Apple product I own…)
AirPods Pro 2.
Some firmware update ruined ANC. If I have my A/C on my left side, the left pod ANC starts to disfunction lightly, as if it lightly increased a level of transparency mode. If it’s on my right side, it’ll happen with the right pod. The same for any fans and sources of constant humming noises. If I change between modes or take the pod out and put it in my ear again, it starts working again until some minutes later the same happens. It’s annoying as hell. Two friends of mine who have the same version of AirPods report exactly the same thing.
This didn’t happen in the past. It gives me the impression that those infamous firmware updates which allegedly reduced ANC effectiveness actually were the starting point of this problem.
2017 MBP, got a fully spec’d 13 inch. I spent more on that than any other computer I’ve ever bought. It was slow within a year, the battery was terrible and the touchbar was never really a thing. I traded it in for a base m1 Mac mini which has been 100x’s better
The only Apple product I ever owned was an iPod. Absolutely amazing hardware, but iTunes is the absolute worst software ever.
iPhone 6S
I could do without Apple Jacks. I’m more a Frosted Flakes guy.
The Smart Cover for my iPad.
Their HDMI-DVI cables were so bad. Will be broken too quickly.
iPhone 4s – felt like it was on a mission to test my patience with its constant lagging
[Performa 5200](https://lowendmac.com/1995/performa-5200/).
Absolute garbage. They crippled it in all kinds of ridiculous ways, from not enough VRAM to 32-bit bus for a 64-bit processor to no hardware handshake on the serial port. To make the networking stable you had to add an empty scsi card. And to top it off they shipped it with a faulty monitor wire and refused to acknowledge it until they issued a recall.
Any cable that moves. Headphones, chargers, USB cables, they all fray and break.
The original iPad 3 with the old 30-pin connector. It got replaced with an updated iPad 3 that had the new lightning connector a few months after release.
The only Apple computer I ever owned was a first generation Intel MBP. The screen flickered right out of the box because of a faulty display inverter that had to be replaced. The DVD drive died just out of the warranty period. It would burn my lap if my pants weren’t thick enough. Finally, it had a penchant for eating batteries that would begin swelling after only 3 months of use. Never again.
The wired earphones. Every time I would buy a product, the same shitty earphones that sound crap and fall out every five seconds.
Waste of metal and plastic.
Red delicious. Worst Apple ever.
An intel Touch Bar Mac. It was a work machine, I “upgraded” from a MacBook Air and though going from a non retina to a retina screen was nice the rest of the machine was garbage. It was slower, the battery life was embarrassingly bad, tons of RAM but would bog down super easily, noisy, and that butterfly keyboard should have never gotten past QA.
All of them
IPhone 5c
IPhone 3G with iPhone OS 4.0
Intel MacBook pro 2019, running office 365. Frequent high cpu usage (window manager), 10 hour battery my arse. Switched for work to get a break from Dell laptops with bad battery life, will likely switch to an AMD based HP one next, can’t be much worse than what I have now.
My name tag holder. Used to work at one of their retail stores and the plastic frame would break all the time. Absolute trash.
Newton.
It’s probably still in a drawer somewhere.
That round mouse. Worst ergonomic design ever.
Red Delicious. They are just mealy, tasteless terrible apples
Homepod mini.
I don’t like the AirPods. They fall out of my ears for any slight movement.
All the products they remotely slowed so i would upgrade.
Basically every Ipod in the early 2000s when you had a windows PC, the ipods themselves were fine but Itunes was just always this frustrating pain to use on Windows.
Looking at how Apple can be now with cross-platform stuff, I definitely wonder if it was intentionally so bad on Windows. Had the opposite of the desired effect on me if that was the case though, just turned me into a bit of an Apple hater even if that’s not really fair.
1st gen airpods
ITunes
iphone 15 pro. Over promised underwhelming
