“Accidentally took my dog’s Gabapentin – Will I be okay? #DogMedicationMixup #GabapentinAccident
Hi there! I’m a 28-year-old female with some health conditions and I accidentally took my dog’s Gabapentin instead of my own medication. I’m wondering if I’ll be okay and if I can still take my Lexapro. Your help is much appreciated! Thank you in advance!”
If you didn’t take your own medication, you should take it. You will have more trouble from missing your medication than you will from a single dose of gabapentin.
Gabapentin doesn’t interact in the liver with other medications, so there’s no issue with drug-drug interaction between the two medications.
Gabapentin causes drowsiness. I suggest strongly that, until tomorrow, you don’t drive and don’t operate equipment that might be dangerous, like chainsaws or drills.
