What is the differences between remade, and remastered?
because a wonderful series has 4 different version. a wonderful life gbc, another wonderful life gbc, a wonderful life special edition ps 2, and story of season a wonderful life
Off the top of my head the Mario 1-3 NES games come to mind
NES originals
Mario all stars versions
Gameboy colour (SMB Deluxe) and GBa versions (Mario advance and Mario advance 4).
Remade from 8-16 bit and then remade for portable screens/with enhancements.
Castlevania for the NES already had two remakes back in the day; Super Castlevania IV and Castlevania Chronicles (which also got a port on the ps1 that kinda includes a remaster mode)
maybe they’d just release a remastered version of the remake. but if that’s going to be a remake they will be adding a lot of new mechanics that will appeal to a newer audience for sure. We us fans are contented with what it is right now but it is what is.. they are still a company that has to make money
Pokémon Gen 1 had fire red and leaf green on the GBA then Let’s go pickachu and eevee on the switch.
Last of Us PS3, PS4, PS5 (Part I) for “remastered”
Remake, I think there’s gotta be some Nintendo title out there that has been.
Shadow Of The Colossus on PS2 was remade on both PS3 and PS4
Please leave out Lisa Trevor bs and crimson heads.
That shit ain’t resident evil, it’s like they were sitting around trying to fix what ain’t broken.
Honestly, if any RE game is going to be remade in 2026, it’s more than likely going to be RE5, especially since they teased at it so heavily at the end of RE4 Remake.
A remake of a remake becoming a new trend. This industry is truly doomed.
Super Mario Bros 2 was remade in Super Mario All Stars, and then again in Super Mario Advanced
Edit: Forgot about the Super Mario Bros remake on GBC
Age of Kings had a HD Edition, and a few years ago a definitive edition.
I’m not sure, but I hope Naughty Dog and Sony will continue to be trailblazers and out remake any other game that dares to threaten their rehash skills.
Myst (1993) has 3 remakes.
I know REmake is 22 years old now, but I think games like CV need the love more.
MGS1 might be joining that list if Delta is successful.
Tony hawk pro skater has been remade 3 times
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2X – 2001
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD – 2012
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 – 2020
Doom? Doom 3 is a remake. Doom 2016 technically continues the original continuity so not quite.
As someone that joined RE with Re2 Remake I’m quite excited about this news!
Final Fantasy IV. PSP remake, then the DS/iOS remake.
Ughhh I wanted re5 remake. We need more 2 player coop games
The last of us was remastered for PS4 then remade for PS5 and PC. I think out of the last 7 games Naughty Dog released, six were the last of us. Given there’s only two games, this is legitimately insane.
The first leisure suit larry was remade 2 times.
The last of us ps3
The last of us ps4
The last of us ps5
This happens all the time
Street Fighter 2 with its 60 or so versions.
Tales of Symphonia, it’s been done a fair few times now.
I would hope they do it as a FPS style RE like 7 and 8 since they proved it works for a setting similar to RE1.
That was an April fools joke my lad.
They will remake Resident Evil Gun Survivor before Code Veronica, I swear.
Street Fighter II has even Mario beat, with at least 8 editions, with 5 of those having new engines.
This is not even counting the ports, some of which have their own technical limitations due to different engines.
But those are ports, not remakes/reimaginings.
They shouldn’t do it.
I hope they don’t.
The NES Super Mario games were remade for SNES and then again 2 and 3 were remade for GBA
I mean let’s be blunt. The RE1 remake doesn’t hold a candle to the RE Engine remakes
Give me another Jibble sandwich!
The first one is almost entirely a remaster and doesn’t quite count as a remake in my mind.
