Bad advice. How am I going to communicate with the person, especially if it’s a vehicle or other high value items, if they don’t understand the same language I speak?
I have a hard enough time communicating with some of the people that respond in “English”. No way I’m gonna bother dealing with Spanish.
Fuck that, if they have the tech to be online, they can figure out how to translate the ad.
If you live in the U.S. your life will be much easier if you learn english.
Facebook marketplace has a built in translation feature. There’s literally a link within every ad asking if you want FB to translate it for you.
This tip is good if you know Spanish. Otherwise it is redundant and possibly problematic. FB already has built in translation features. If you do not know Spanish, then you risk being inundated with questions that could get lost in translation or even your post not being translated correctly.
What this “tip” really is: “This worked for me due to very specific circumstances. However, I’m going to naively defend it in the comments without acknowledging the huge key component that I failed to mention in the actual post. I speak Spanish.”
